Responsibilities
Program Coordinators provide direct support services to members using person-centered approaches and strategies that support members to be fully engaged and include in each aspect of his or her daily life, have maximum choice and control, and gain independence
Program Coordinators are knowledgeable about crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution techniques and should match such techniques to particular circumstances and individuals
Program Coordinators coordinate and lead competency-based direct support staff training and professional development activities, including coaching and mentoring
Program Coordinators are expected to always be on-call during the week
Program Coordinators are expected to be on-call on the weekends, unless they are off duty as a result of being part of an on-call coverage rotation with another Program Coordinator
It is the responsibility of the Program Coordinator to communicate properly to their staff the on-call rotation
Qualification
Required
Direct Support Professionals supervision experience
Knowledge of crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution techniques
Experience in coordinating and leading competency-based direct support staff training
Ability to provide direct support services using person-centered approaches
Willingness to be on-call during the week and weekends as part of an on-call coverage rotation
Strong communication skills to convey on-call rotation to staff
Commitment to maintaining employee respect and retention
Focus on providing premium quality care, independence, and advancement of clients
