Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee pilot studies
Coordinate and oversee condition assessment of water infrastructure
Perform process technology evaluations and selection based on raw water characteristics and flows to satisfy safe drinking water regulations
Concept, preliminary and detail designs for water treatment plant upgrades
Concept, preliminary and detailed designs for water distribution projects (pumping stations, storage tanks, and distribution / transmission mains)
Coordination with civil, hydraulic and mechanical aspects while guiding and informing the architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and I&C disciplines
Assess trends in the marketplace and support business development activities related to water projects, including strategy, approach, and engineering fee
Mentor and develop junior water process and designs staff
Participate in local and national professional organizations, including attending and presenting at conferences

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/or education
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Experience with planning, design, construction, and operation of water-related projects, including supply, treatment, pumping station, storage, and distribution / transmission

Preferred

Master's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred
10+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water planning and design
Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing
Strong knowledge of water design codes, standards, and regulations
Strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives
Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment
Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
Self-starter and ability to take initiative
Experienced technical writer
