Director of Sales & Operational Planning
Ashton North LLC is seeking a Director of Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) who will design and manage an integrated planning operating system. The role involves owning the end-to-end planning ecosystem and driving predictable execution, disciplined working capital management, and scalable growth.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and continuously mature a best-in-class SIOP framework aligned to business strategy and growth goals
Establish clear planning horizons, decision rights, escalation paths, and governance standards
Lead the full monthly SIOP cadence end-to-end, including demand, supply, inventory, reconciliation, and executive decision forums
Serve as a trusted planning partner to executive leadership, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance
Build demand planning methodologies suited for highly configurable, high-mix products
Lead annual and rolling demand planning with Sales, incorporating assumptions, risks, and scenarios
Improve forecast accuracy and bias while acknowledging inherent demand variability
Translate customer demand signals into executable planning inputs
Convert demand plans into realistic supply and capacity plans across labor, equipment, workflows, and suppliers
Lead rough-cut and mid-range capacity planning to identify constraints before they become issues
Partner with Manufacturing on bottlenecks, takt times, staffing models, and capital constraints
Proactively surface risks to service, lead time, throughput, and cost—and drive corrective action
Define inventory strategies that balance service, lead time, asset utilization, and cash
Establish stocking rules for shared components and sub-assemblies
Own inventory targets, turns, safety stock policies, and excess & obsolete reduction efforts
Evolve inventory policies as product mix, volume, and complexity change
Act as the functional owner of SIOP capabilities within the ERP environment
Define and maintain planning parameters, item attributes, MRP logic, and master data standards
Partner cross-functionally to ensure BOMs, routings, and item masters support executable plans
Drive system-enabled, automated planning processes—reducing spreadsheet dependency
Define and monitor KPIs such as forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, plan adherence, and capacity utilization
Deliver clear, executive-level dashboards and insights
Partner with Finance to align SIOP outputs with budgeting and financial forecasts
Lead continuous improvement in planning rigor, analytics, and decision quality
Establish SIOP as a decision-making framework, not just a process
Drive adoption, accountability, and cross-functional alignment
Break down silos through clearly defined roles and shared ownership
Train and coach stakeholders to ensure consistent execution
Build a scalable foundation for future SIOP team growth
