Responsibilities

Planning, developing, and coordinating programs that result in EHS regulatory compliance
Apply scientific and practical knowledge of the Safety compliance field to innovate, design, and improve systems, processes, equipment, and tools
Lead and manage all activities related to the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Drive safety improvement projects
Design and implement workplace safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA
Support manufacturing, office, local contacts and/or safety committees
Interpret and apply the Tower Safety Management manual policies and procedure
Participate in continuous improvements of policies and procedures
Perform and document complex safety compliance activities including risk assessments, ergonomic studies, and process and equipment innovation
Give detailed presentations and reporting of safety activities and results
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures
Maintain accurate safety records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes

Required

BS in Health and Safety Science, Engineering, Applied Science to assure basic knowledge of chemistry and health sciences
Understanding of Health and Safety related regulatory and legal requirements and implications
Recommended professional certification such as Advanced Safety Certificate, Occupational Hygiene, Safety Technician, Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist, etc
Experience with federal, state, and local jurisdiction safety requirements, including Cal-OSHA
Interpersonal relationship skills
Understanding of major health and safety regulations and injury/illness prevention strategies
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
