The role involves supporting an Equity trading environment by collaborating closely with Traders, Quant/Strats, and IT teams to enhance and maintain low-latency, real-time trading applications.
Responsibilities
Act as the Business Analyst interface between Equity traders, Quants/Strats, and Technology teams
Gather, structure, and document business requirements for algo trading strategies and real-time trading tools
Translate trading needs into functional specifications, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria
Support enhancements on real-time trading applications (order entry, pricing, execution, monitoring, alerts)
Contribute to the specification and implementation of:
Algo execution flows (VWAP, TWAP, POV, Implementation Shortfall, Smart Routing, etc.)
Market data consumption & normalization
Pre-trade controls and post-trade analytics
Risk/limits, compliance checks, kill-switch, and safety mechanisms
Participate in UAT, define test scenarios, and validate outputs with the business
Support production topics: incident triage, functional analysis, priority definition, and communication
Work with stakeholders to optimize latency-sensitive flows, scalability, and system reliability
Build and maintain functional documentation and training materials for end-users
Qualification
Required
7+ years experience as a Business Analyst in Front Office / Trading environments
Strong knowledge of Equity markets and electronic trading
Solid understanding of algo trading & execution workflows
Experience working on real-time applications and trading tools supporting low-latency execution
Strong ability to interact with Traders
Strong ability to interact with Quantitative teams / Strats
Strong ability to interact with Developers and production support
Excellent analytical skills: ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions
Very good documentation skills: BRD / FSD / user stories, process flows
Comfortable in fast-paced environments and able to handle critical production situations
