Cloud Platform Engineer – Kubernetes / Hybrid Infrastructure
Synchro is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to help design, operate, and evolve a Linux and Kubernetes platform supporting data-intensive production systems. The focus of this role is on platform stability, scalability, and long-term reliability across both cloud and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities
Own and operate production Kubernetes clusters, including environments with 100+ nodes
Design, maintain, and improve Linux and Kubernetes platforms for data-heavy workloads
Help deploy and support new cloud (AWS) and on-prem / bare metal infrastructure environments
Support offline and batch-oriented processing systems that rely on the platform
Build and maintain internal platform and deployment tooling
Troubleshoot platform-level issues related to performance, reliability, networking, and scale
Partner with system and application teams to support critical shared infrastructure
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience operating production Kubernetes environments
Strong Linux systems engineering background
Experience running Kubernetes in bare-metal or on-prem environments
Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and internals
Experience deploying workloads and debugging production issues in Kubernetes
Ability to build automation or tooling in Python or Go
Strong knowledge of Linux internals and networking
Experience working in hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
Preferred
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code or GitOps workflows in support of platform operations
Exposure to GPU-enabled infrastructure or virtualization, including Nvidia-based environments
Background in infrastructure-heavy, platform, or systems teams
