Instrument & Control Technician Appr Lvl 2

Responsibilities
Locate and correct complex trouble on plant mechanical, electrical and electronic control systems, and apparatus
Conduct complex and routine surveillance tests on and periodic visual inspections of instruments and controls to verify performance or identify deficiencies or potential deficiencies which could impact performance or reliability of such devices. Complete all related records of this activity as requested
Repair and replace wiring, valves, fittings, piping, and tubing in conjunction with testing and maintenance of instrument and control systems
To complete or assist in the maintenance and repair of computer hardware systems and peripheral devices
Clean and maintain shop or working area and equipment
Communicate verbally or in writing with authorized inspectors or other representatives of plant management, or the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, on any plant activity with which he has been involved
Properly drive a motor vehicle when directed or when required to perform his duties
On an as needed basis, to serve in any other plant activity for which he is trained
Qualification
Required
Be at least 18 years of age at time of application
Have graduated from high school or passed a recognized high school equivalency examination
Pass the physical which is required for that craft
Possess ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Pass the requirements for unescorted access at the Callaway Energy Center
Must meet qualifications for entry into the apprenticeship program AND meet one of the following criteria: Three years of experience doing journeyman level comparable work specific to the discipline being applied
Completion of associated apprentice program
Associate's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from the State Technical College of Missouri or equivalent program
Associate's degree in Control Systems Technology from Ranken Technical College or equivalent program
Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
