Responsibilities

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work very closely with various business teams depending on fast-changing needs, learning the business and pain points from domain experts to identify analytics-driven solutions
Prototype Development: Develop prototypes together with business and IT teams that can make a measurable impact to the business, covering any stage of the insurance lifecycle from agency relationships and pricing to claims and fraud detection
Data Analysis and Modeling: Massage and understand complex datasets, design and build machine learning models (including deep learning applications), and evaluate model performance with practical cost-benefit analysis
Innovation Research: Bring new data, analytics, and technology into the corporation to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Analyze operational processes and build or identify AI tools that support strategic innovation
Ad Hoc Analysis and Reporting: Perform data analyses, AB testing, data massaging for loss modeling, and leverage GenAI tools where appropriate to support business objectives

Required

Graduate level degree (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, computer science, statistics, or economics
Experience with data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning; deep learning experience (particularly in image segmentation and NLP) preferred
Strong coding skills (Python preferred; R or SAS also valuable)
Passion for numbers and quantitative analysis with strong numeracy skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and forward-looking mindset
Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
Curiosity and motivation to continuously learn and apply new technologies
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Ability to work on-site 4 days per week (Tuesday remote)

Preferred

PhD in a quantitative field
Knowledge of or experience in the insurance industry
Experience with AI tools and GenAI applications
Track record of innovation and research in applied analytics
