Manager, Financial Modelling

The Financial Modelling Manager is responsible for leading the development and governance of complex financial models to support strategic decisions, partnering with various teams to enhance capital allocation and project prioritization.

Responsibilities
Lead the design and oversight of integrated financial models in support of: Life-of-Mine (LOM) plans, External financial publications, Capital allocation strategy, and M&A, joint ventures, and divestiture evaluations
Develop and maintain bottoms-up cost models enabling analysis on key financial an operational metrics to enable visibility and analysis of key metrics such as NPV, IRR, All-in-Sustaining Costs, ROIC for each mine site
Assess and quantify key risks in LOM plans and growth options at each mine site
Provide rigorous financial modeling and analysis to support leadership teams in making informed decisions on capital allocation and project prioritization
Support the development and publication of SEC filing documents (i.e. SK-1300, NI-43101, and Mineral Reserves and Resources) with thorough operational and financial knowledge, financial modelling skills, and detailed QA/QC of base modelling assumptions
Support the Business Improvement team as needed by developing financial templates for the evaluation of continuous improvement projects at each site
Support the Corporate Development team in aligning the company’s debt instruments with long-term financing needs
Establish best practices for model structure, documentation, version control, and review processes
Ensure consistency and accuracy across financial models used by the company
Train and mentor finance team members in advanced modelling technique
Perform ad hoc analysis to provide valuable insights for the finance, technical, and other cross-functional teams
Produce reporting deliverables for presentation to executive leadership and board members
Support the corporate finance team initiatives and serve as backup for other areas of corporate finance, as-needed
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in finance, engineering, or related field, and 8-12 years of working experience
Demonstrated experience in the mining, extractive, or other natural resources sectors
Professional designation (CPA, CFA, MBA) an asset
Proficiency in building and maintaining complex financial models, with demonstrated capability in: Optimizing calculation speed and file stability, Developing logical model structures with clear delineation of inputs, calculations, and outputs, and Utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel formulas and techniques (ie dynamic arrays, advanced formulas, named ranges and structured tables, advanced macros, etc.)
Advanced experience in data integration/automation for modelling, including: Data transformation and loading tools, linking models to ERP/budget systems and technical/operational data sets, experience in basic VBA or similar programming language
Strong communication and stakeholder management

Leadership and mentoring capability
Strong attention to detail and data integrity, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to summarize the key points in an analysis
Preferred
Experience in SAP, OneStream, or PowerBI reporting an asset
