Midjourney is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technician to support a fast-moving research and design effort. This role focuses on rapid iteration, physical prototyping, and experimental build-test-learn cycles in an evolving environment.

Responsibilities

Fabricate & assemble experimental test rigs and infrastructure to support large prototype systems

Perform basic electrical wiring and cable routing for power and instrumentation

Troubleshoot structural, mechanical and electrical issues during testing

Work closely with engineers and researchers to translate concepts into physical hardware quickly

Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient fabrication and test environment

Required

Hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication or engineering technician roles

Practical experience using and maintaining typical prototyping tools (power tools, drill press, 3d printers, laser cutters, machining, welding)

Experience with basic electrical wiring (soldering, wiring microcontrollers, power distribution, etc)

Familiarity with reading mechanical drawings and creating basic CAD models

Experience working on large scale systems (e.g., installations, equipment, vehicles, structures, robotics, or similar)

Background in R&D, lab, or prototype-heavy environments
