Employee Relations Manager
LHH is a rapidly growing professional services organization seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager. This role involves supporting managers, guiding complex workplace matters, and ensuring compliance across multiple states while promoting a healthy work environment.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues including complaints, conflicts, grievances, and allegations of misconduct; ensure objective, timely case management
Conduct confidential workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and policy violations; document findings and recommend appropriate actions
Advise and coach managers on disciplinary matters, including performance improvement plans, corrective actions, and terminations, ensuring consistency and fairness
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions; monitor regulatory changes and recommend policy updates
Collaborate with HR Business Partners and leadership on complex or sensitive cases, offering expert guidance and contributing to engagement and risk‑mitigation strategies
Maintain detailed, accurate documentation for all employee relations cases in accordance with legal and organizational standards
Analyze employee relations trends, identify root causes, and recommend proactive solutions such as training, process improvements, or policy enhancements
Potential to manage and develop future Employee Relations team members as the function grows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
8-10+ years of progressively responsible HR experience with emphasis on employee relations casework and compliance
Experience conducting investigations required
Strong understanding of U.S. federal employment regulations (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, wage and hour laws)
In‑depth knowledge of New York and California employment laws, including state‑specific regulatory requirements and best practices
Experience developing or contributing to employee relations frameworks, processes, and standards
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to build credibility and clearly document findings
Strong mediation, conflict‑resolution, and problem‑solving abilities; able to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgment
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously
Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive information appropriately
Preferred
Experience managing or mentoring HR staff
HR certifications (PHR/SPHR/SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP)
