Responsibilities
Report unsafe acts, situations, or conditions
Work incident and injury free
Actively seeks mentorship and learning to improve technical knowledge, skill set or product
Interact with multiple teams to develop technical knowledge
Investigates, researches, and analyzes information and issues related to surveying
Collaborates with management and peers to identify and analyze business requirements and the implications for the team; identifies gaps and implements agreed upon solutions
Identifies opportunities to enhance performance and develops strategies to overcome challenges and barriers while minimizing risk
Implements approved recommendations for maximizing operational efficiencies
Proposes new work approaches, methods, and policies to optimize performance and ensure adherence to industry regulations and organizational standards
Complete any other tasks as needed or as directed by management
Carrying out topographical, volumetric, and boundary surveys
Set up and maintain survey equipment, such as GPS, and total stations
Record survey data accurately and help with plotting data points on maps
Assist with mine site mapping, pit surveys, and surface measurements
Qualification
Required
GED/High School Diploma
Valid Driver's License and good driving record required to drive company vehicles on property
Preferred
Drone 107 licensing preferred (if no license, it must be obtained within 1 year)
Current MSHA part 46 or part 48 trained
Basic understanding of open pit mining operations
Basic working knowledge of safety rules and regulations
Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read, understand and speak English
Intermediate computer skills functionality
Basic understand of Trimble GPS systems
Dependable and willingness to learn
