Responsibilities
Lead month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timeliness and GAAP compliance
Prepare and review key journal entries (derivatives, depletion, ARO, amortization, depreciation, prepaid accounts, interest, etc.)
Manage balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
Reconcile intercompany and related-party accounts, resolving discrepancies quickly
Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages, including cash flow statements, roll-forwards, and variance analyses
Partner with auditors during interim and year-end audits, coordinating PBC requests and addressing control questions
Review new contracts and advise on appropriate accounting treatment
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within the accounting function
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in upstream oil & gas
Strong GAAP knowledge with hands-on experience in DD&A, ARO, and derivative accounting
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data
Preferred
Experience with Quorum OnDemand or OGsys
CPA preferred but not required
