Responsibilities
Research and stay ahead of trends in color, print, and pattern for each season
Design innovative all-over prints, placement prints, and novelty fabric patterns using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Apply a deep understanding of print applications and execution techniques, ensuring alignment with swimwear collection needs
Manage the development of print and artwork files, ensuring accuracy before sending them to mills for multiple brands
Collaborate with the Art Director and Design Director to define and execute the seasonal print roadmap
Review and provide detailed feedback on strike-offs from vendors to ensure design integrity
Utilize technical expertise in scaling, color separation, artwork placement, repeat creation, and preparing indexed files for production
Develop original artwork for prints, embellishments, novelty fabrics, and embroideries, incorporating trends and creativity
Create indexed repeats from purchased artwork and vintage garments to craft unique, trend-driven designs
Work closely with the design team to prepare and present seasonal collections to clients
Contribute to the organization and efficiency of the design team, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment
Qualification
Required
Full-time, on-site Textile Artist role based in Costa Mesa, CA
