Simons Foundation is seeking a program coordinator for its Science, Society & Culture division to assist in the review and development of science outreach programs and execute external communications strategies. Responsibilities

Assist with pre- and post-award grants process across the Science, Society & Culture division’s portfolios, helping ensure the full distribution of the division’s yearly grants budget
Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of active organizations within Science, Society & Culture portfolios. This includes assisting in tracking and reporting on active awardees’ milestones and progress
Work with the program manager to ensure timely completion of pre-award documents
Act as a primary point of contact for awardees throughout pre-award and grant periods
Act as an ambassador for SSC and the Simons Foundation at external events, including the annual SSC Summit, conferences, social events, and more
Assist with the development of materials for internal and external events, including the annual SSC awardee summit
Schedule regular check-ins with awardees between progress reports and site visits
Assist in the execution of the SSC external communications strategy, including coordinating website content and various storytelling initiatives and contributing to the development of PowerPoint decks for internal and external events
Study and engage with the field of science engagement
Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required

Required

Bachelor's degree
2-3 years combined relevant experience
Experience with grant making processes
Ability to prioritize and adapt to the demands of projects, while meeting deadlines across all active projects and remaining flexible, calm and focused
Enthusiasm about the initiative's mission, with a demonstrated passion for the importance of science to society and creative science outreach
Strong communication and organizational skills, with a specific focus on attention to detail; high emotional intelligence; ability to speak comfortably and clearly with awardees
Strong PowerPoint skills and design instincts
Experience with project management software (specifically Airtable) is a plus
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite — specifically Photoshop and InDesign — is a plus
