Responsibilities

Acts as a direct link between the institution and U.S. Postal Service on related issues

Oversees the daily operations of sorting inmate letters addressed to the public and public letters, magazines, newspapers, etc. and distributes them inside the institution

Supervises Postal Technician I staff

Oversees the operation of electronic scales, meters and other postal equipment as needed for weight, postage, and shipping systems

Investigates complaints of missing or lost mail, packages and deliveries

Performs duties such as computing daily postage charges, operating computer systems, operating printer systems, maintain various logs, etc

Loads and unloads mail

Keeps in contact with the U. S. Postal Services on any changes to rules, regulations and/or procedures

Oversees the daily operations of distributing and delivering of legal mail and keeping confidentiality

Sends daily memorandum to Unit Administrators for legal mail pick up
