Manufacturing Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical, optical, and electrical inspection and testing on incoming components, assemblies, and instruments
Troubleshoot complex systemic failures using root cause analysis and document corrective actions
Build, configure, and maintain test fixtures and equipment
Execute reliability and performance testing, including software loading and data verification
Rework or repair non-conforming materials as needed
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support new product transitions and process improvements
Recommend design or process changes to improve product performance and manufacturability
Support calibration and testing activities and provide hands-on training to technicians and associates
Interpret CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation
Maintain accurate documentation of test data, serial numbers, process steps, and rework activity
Support continuous improvement projects and adherence to quality system requirements
Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain organized, clean work areas
Perform additional duties as assigned
Assist with development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Stay current on validation practices, design controls, test methods, and compliant documentation standards
Support product and process risk management activities

Required

Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, AC/DC circuitry, and PCBA manufacturing processes
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, quality control, and production methods
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD models
Advanced troubleshooting and systems analysis skills
Experience with lean or continuous improvement methodologies preferred
Strong documentation and data analysis capabilities
Proficiency with Windows-based applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication
Willingness to train and mentor others
Associate's degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field with 2+ years of hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience, OR
Vocational/Trade School training with relevant electronics experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing or engineering technician experience

Preferred

IPC or soldering certifications
ISO environment experience
Military technical experience
Circuit-level troubleshooting background
