Responsibilities

Champions Company and Division customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals. Handles customer relations in a positive manner, including effective resolution of customer complaints. Promotes Albertson’s philosophy of personalized service
Operates checkstand equipment such as cash register, printer, scanner and scale to process customer orders. Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques and bags customer orders
Handles monetary transactions including cash, checks, charges, coupons, gift cards, travelers’ checks, food stamps, WIC vouchers, issuing rainchecks and handling refunds. Counts cash register till and is accountable for its contents. Communicates over in-store intercom
Implements all Company policies and legal requirements for the sale of merchandise, including but not limited to sale of tobacco and alcohol, use of WIC vouchers, associate purchases, refunds, handling customer complaints, shoplifting and loss prevention
Responsible for staying current on product location, new products, sales and promotions, monitoring UPC codes and ensuring a safe and secure work area
Controls shrink. Prevents the sale of out of code product
Responsible for keeping checkstand area clean, neat and properly stocked and for ensuring a safe and secure work area
Performs other duties as required or directed, such as go backs, stocking, cleaning, carts retrieval, pricing and rotating merchandise
Responsible for performing all job duties accurately, safely and with honesty and integrity
Represents the store in a positive manner to customers and the public

Ability to identify situations that may require immediate attention or intervention and to react according to company policies and procedures
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, walk rapidly, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are necessary
Ability to learn and memorize a consideration amount of information
Must possess mental alertness and basic mathematics skills
Ability to present a positive image to the public
Complies with all Company policies including safety, loss prevention, attendance, grooming standards and dress codes
May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
Scheduled hours will vary
