Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical leadership to a product engineering team building customer-facing collaboration features
Stay close to the code and architecture, guiding design decisions and technical tradeoffs under real constraints
Lead execution for new features and enhancements, balancing speed, quality, and long-term maintainability
Partner closely with Product and Design to translate evolving requirements into shippable solutions
Mentor and support engineers, fostering accountability, focus, and sustainable delivery
Own code quality through reviews, standards, and strong engineering fundamentals
Help the team navigate ambiguity and changing priorities while maintaining momentum
Support operational excellence by addressing technical debt, performance issues, and platform reliability
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments
Experience operating as a Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or hybrid leadership role
Strong hands-on background with modern backend systems, frontend platforms, or applied AI
Deep experience leading technical execution in one primary domain while collaborating across disciplines
Experience with Node.js, relational databases, and at least one modern frontend framework
Comfort working in cloud-native environments
Demonstrated ability to lead execution in fast-moving, low-process environments
Strong technical judgment and pragmatic decision-making
Clear communicator who collaborates well across engineering, product, and design
Leadership style that balances urgency, team motivation, and long-term team health
Preferred
Experience working on collaborative or real-time systems
Background in SaaS or high-growth product organizations
Exposure to AI-enabled product features or platform-level systems
Prior experience helping teams scale while systems and processes are still evolving
