System Administrator
LHH is partnering with a longstanding, local company in Portland to help them find their next IT System Administrator. The role involves supporting and maintaining a broad range of systems to ensure high availability and reliability of IT services, while also providing user training and support.
Responsibilities
Support and maintain a broad range of systems including Windows networks, Viewpoint servers, Epicor applications, Exchange email, and Ring Central
Ensure high availability and reliability of all IT services, systems, and assets
Provide hands‑on support for LAN users — troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations
Install, configure, and maintain workstations and peripherals, recommending new tech solutions as needs evolve
Partner with teams, vendors, and consultants to resolve issues and enhance the environment
Deliver user training and individualized support to keep employees confident and productive
Maintain network communications infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and connectivity to internal and external locations
Manage and optimize software installations, upgrades, configurations, and troubleshooting
Administer and enhance email filtering systems and Microsoft Exchange, ensuring a secure and seamless communication ecosystem
Support website updates and content changes as needed
Manage hybrid IT environments across cloud, mobile, and on‑prem systems including AD, servers, PCs, networking gear, and applications
Monitor, analyze, and report on IT infrastructure performance — providing recommendations for continuous improvement
Strengthen cybersecurity, risk mitigation, and compliance initiatives
Lead backup operations, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity processes
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365 identity and security features
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, virtualization, and storage systems
Experience with patch management, system monitoring, and security best practices
Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving complex Tier 2/3 technical issues
Clear and practical communicator who works well with both technical and non-technical users
Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
