Assessment and Accountability Analyst

Memphis-Shelby County Schools is seeking an Assessment and Accountability Analyst to maintain accurate test score file databases and perform data analysis related to testing requirements. Responsibilities

Develops and applies solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity and competency in maintaining accurate and accessible test score file databases related to federal, state, and district testing requirements
Communicates with management to determine type, scope, and purpose of analyses. May lead a team in the effort. Works with other analysts and management to complete assigned project work
Deals with complex problems and provide solutions that are innovative and ingenious, achieving quality and work process improvements. Ensures that the workgroup's goals and activities are aligned with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization; and that the execution of responsibilities is in accordance with lawful and ethical standards
Directs and assists in the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned service, activities, and operations; provides appropriate research and compiles reports, as needed
Housekeeps' data to ensure accuracy of student scores and maintains longitudinal databases of scores
Collaborates with appropriate district departments and divisions and state and federal agencies in the collection, provision, and/or dissemination of data
Plans and conducts workshops for district and school staff related to the testing process and test results
Makes oral and written presentations to school staffs, parent groups, the board of education, district staff, and other stakeholders regarding the testing process and test results
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Measurement, Educational Research, Evaluation, Statistics, other social sciences, or related fields plus an additional 4 years related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of 8 years
Competency in maintaining accurate and accessible test score file databases related to federal, state, and district testing requirements
Ability to assess and perform analysis on data and prepare data to facilitate the Assessment and Accountability functions of the organization
Understanding of both theory and practice
Ability to develop and apply solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Ability to communicate with management to determine type, scope, and purpose of analyses
Ability to lead a team in the effort
Ability to deal with complex problems and provide innovative and ingenious solutions
Ability to ensure that the workgroup's goals and activities are aligned with and support the broader goals and objectives of the organization
