DSHS FTAA Fiscal Analyst 2
NEOGOV is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 2 to join their Consolidated Business Services team in Shoreline, WA. This role involves maintaining and monitoring financial accounts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing consultation on financial matters.

Responsibilities
Maintain, track, and monitor activity on five local fund checking accounts
Respond to financial inquiries by analyzing data and preparing historical account reports
Apply Medicaid guidelines, state laws and agency policies to all account activities
Calculate and prepare daily bank deposits and ensure secure handling of all monetary items
Review and determine how to process unclaimed or abandoned funds in compliance with state requirements
Track and report sales tax obligations related to patient and group fund purchases
Audit and input client work pay records into the system
Prepare and submit financial transmittals for recoveries in the current budget cycle
Calculate and process monthly payments due to the Office of Financial Recovery
Monitor and report patient accounts identified as eligible for financial recovery
Lead staff in the absence of the Fiscal Analyst 5 fiscal supervisor for the fiscal department
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 12 semesters or 18 quarter hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience
Professional experience may substitute for education, but not for the accounting, audit, or budget-related credit hours
A master's degree in a financial related field; or certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience
Accounting knowledge – You understand the principles of accounting and can apply them to reconcile complex fund records
Regulatory understanding – You are able to navigate financial rules, Medicaid requirements, and Washington state regulations
Analytical skills – You interpret data, identify financial discrepancies and recommend effective solutions
Technical proficiency – You are comfortable using accounting software and Excel, including creating spreadsheets and importing/exporting data
Discretion and ethics – You consistently maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in handling sensitive financial information
Clear and patient communication – You communicate professionally with a wide audience, both in writing and in person
Time management – You can manage deadlines, prioritize tasks and organize your workload efficiently
Adaptability – You are flexible, open to change, and able to absorb new procedures and expectations quickly
