R&D Engineer (Machine Learning & Sensing Technologies)

They are seeking a highly self-motivated R&D Engineer with a strong background in Machine Learning applied to physical systems to develop ML-based solutions for various applications.

Responsibilities
Design and implement machine learning algorithms (e.g., deep learning, anomaly detection) for complex signal and image processing tasks
Develop intelligent systems for sensor networks, interpreting data from acoustic, ultrasonic, and vibration sensors
Create diagnostic and prognostic models for Nondestructive Testing (NDT) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)
Apply ML to monitor additive manufacturing processes, enabling real-time product qualification and properties prediction
Design and test experimental setups and functional prototypes in our specialized labs
Assist in writing research proposals and technical reports for internal and external stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
Proven experience in Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and programming (Python, C#, or C++)
Strong background in signal/image processing and time-frequency analysis
Excellent writing and oral communication skills for technical reporting and collaborative R&D
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is preferred for this position
Preferred
Familiarity with additive manufacturing (e.g., EBAM) and process monitoring is highly desired
Experience with NDT/SHM technologies (ultrasound, RF, or eddy current)
