Vehicle Access System Engineer Expert
Stellantis is seeking a Vehicle Access System Expert with extensive experience in system design and integration for advanced vehicle access technologies. Responsibilities
Lead the definition and development of complete system architecture for vehicle access solutions, including keyless entry, PEPS, and immobilizer systems
Establish core design specifications and system-level documentation for all access components
Ensure secure, reliable communication between vehicle ECUs and access devices using RF, NFC, Bluetooth, and UWB technologies
Drive cross-functional integration of hardware and software components into vehicle platforms
Oversee system-level validation under diverse environmental and operational conditions
Implement advanced cryptographic techniques for secure authentication and anti-theft protection
Ensure compliance with global automotive security standards and OEM requirements
Conduct functional, durability, and cybersecurity testing for access systems
Perform RF performance analysis and optimize antenna placement for reliable operation
Explore emerging technologies such as smartphone-based access, digital keys, and biometric authentication
Drive continuous improvement in system robustness and user experience
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, or related field
10 years in automotive electronics development, with a focus on access and security systems
Proven track record in RF design and secure communication systems
Expertise in CAN, LIN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), NFC, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies
Vector CAN tools (CANalyzer or CANoe) related to CAN/CAN-FD vehicle bus networking protocols
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
Strong knowledge of RF electronics, antenna design, and signal integrity for keyless systems
Experience with low-power hardware design for portable access devices (key fobs, smart cards)
Expertise in CAN, LIN, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), NFC, and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies
Familiarity with encryption algorithms, secure key management, and authentication protocols
Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 and related automotive cybersecurity standards
Proficiency in RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers) and diagnostic tools
Preferred
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
Experience at Tier-1 level developing and launching Access systems
Knowledge of digital key ecosystems and smartphone integration
Familiarity with functional safety and cybersecurity frameworks
