Onsite Cost Analyst

Career Connections, Inc is seeking an Onsite Cost Analyst for a large facility project in Cheshire, Ohio. This role is essential for maintaining financial health and cost control of a civil construction project, requiring responsibilities such as cost tracking, budget management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports, including budgets, commitments, change orders, actual costs, and forecasts
Develop and maintain accurate Estimate to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC) projections
Review, track, and process vendor invoices
Prepare and submit customer billings in accordance with contract requirements
Assist with cost code setup, expense allocation, and budget tracking
Reconcile project cost data with accounting records to ensure financial accuracy
Review contractor pay applications, invoices, and change orders for accuracy, compliance, and contract alignment
Ensure all financial documentation supports contractual obligations and approvals
Analyze cost variances and trends
Assess Client utilization and labor productivity
Identify potential cost impacts and proactively communicate risks to project leadership
Maintain a detailed change order log, tracking scope, cost, and schedule impacts
Support documentation and approval processes for change requests
Partner with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting teams to resolve cost issues and provide financial insights
Serve as a reliable onsite financial resource for project leadership
Recommend and implement cost control procedures to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance financial transparency

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
Proven experience in construction cost control, project accounting, estimating, or financial analysis
Experience working with union craft labor and civil/industrial construction projects is highly desirable
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of accounting principles and job cost systems
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with construction processes, contract terms, and cost control best practices
Working knowledge of project controls in an active construction environment
Ability to work onsite at an active construction project
Must be able to navigate stairs, uneven terrain, and jobsite conditions safely

Preferred

Equivalent, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience with construction management or accounting software is a plus
