Responsibilities

Oversee melting and delivery system processes for production lines
Maintain process control and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Develop and execute process changes to improve capability and efficiency
Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts
Build a fundamental understanding of key process steps using engineering principles
Recommend and implement improvements to equipment and processes
Develop and maintain systems to monitor equipment and process performance, proactively addressing issues
Receive and integrate new technologies to enhance process capability
Lead and support PEx (Process Excellence) projects, such as cost reduction, process optimization, and technology migration
Develop and update engineering and operations documentation to maintain ISO compliance
Provide training for the operations workforce regarding process or equipment changes
Collaborate with other teams and departments to meet or exceed manufacturing goals
Actively engage in plant safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment

Required

BS or MS in Engineering (Glass, Ceramics, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)
0-3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong scientific and engineering skills for fundamental understanding, including broad knowledge of engineering principles (Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Material Science)
Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Proficiency in data analysis and interpreting results
Experience with experimental design and applying engineering principles
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
Results-oriented with a focus on problem-solving and performance improvement

Preferred

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
Basic statistical knowledge
Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques
