Responsibilities

Electrical systems design
Preparation of complex calculations
Load flow and short circuit
Power flow
System Impact
Cable ampacity
Preparation of documented design inputs
Preparation of equipment and material specifications
Preparation of design reports
Receive training and mentorship from experienced engineers in the execution of meaningful project engineering assignments
Become involved in power distribution designs and the preparation of specifications for the procurement of major electrical power equipment and related installation services
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs

Required

BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
1 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment or a MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background in electrical power concepts/power systems analysis
An understanding of the practical application of electrical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, and procedures to a project design
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
Strong problem solving skills are desired

Preferred

Experience performing transient analysis of power systems using software such as ETAP or SKM
