Platform Services Middleware Engineer
Akkodis is seeking a Platform Services Middleware Engineer for a Contract with a client. The role involves building, configuring, and maintaining IBM MQ and Confluent Kafka platforms while implementing automation and security measures in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities
Build, configure, and maintain IBM MQ queue managers, channels, clusters, and Kafka brokers, topics, ACLs, and related components
Deploy and manage MQ and Kafka platforms on OpenShift (OCP) and AWS using containerization and operator-based deployments
Automate platform provisioning, configuration, and deployments through CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and scripting with Bash/Python
Implement and maintain security controls including TLS/mTLS, SASL/OAUTH, and enforce high availability and disaster recovery strategies
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance of messaging platforms using observability tools and alerting systems
Collaborate with application teams to support event-driven architectures and ensure adherence to best integration practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
6–8 years of hands‑on experience working with IBM MQ, Confluent Kafka, and middleware platforms
Strong operational experience building and managing Kafka and MQ environments across OpenShift/AWS with solid automation skills using CI/CD, Bash/Python, and GitOps
Proven ability to implement secure, highly available messaging platforms with expertise in TLS/mTLS, SASL/OAUTH, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting
