E-Commerce Project & Tech Delivery Manager

Responsibilities
Own the full lifecycle of ecommerce and supporting technology projects from intake through post-launch stabilization
Define project scope, success criteria, schedules, budgets, and delivery plans
Develop detailed work plans, technical estimates, timelines, and dependencies
Enforce disciplined execution, change control, and delivery standards
Actively monitor milestones, risks, and dependencies, driving issues to resolution
Own the daily stability and performance of the ecommerce platform
Support promotions, site updates, and configuration changes to ensure accurate execution
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues across ecommerce and third-party integrations
Serve as the primary escalation point for ecommerce platform incidents impacting customers or operations
Lead hybrid project rhythms, including planning, tracking, and retrospectives
Manage vendor deliverables, statements of work, contract commitments, and performance
Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies, and roadblocks quickly
Maintain strict change-control processes and ensure all changes align with timeline and budget
Coordinate system testing, UAT cycles, defect triage, and go-live activities
Ensure smooth production cutover and hypercare
Apply deep technical knowledge to evaluate architecture alignment and implementation feasibility
Oversee API-based integrations, middleware, and data flows across the ecommerce ecosystem
Ensure operational readiness, data integrity, and system reliability for all releases and launches
Partner with IT, engineering, and vendors to validate technical designs and execution plans
Balance project delivery with platform stability and operational continuity
Ensure changes are tested, documented, and deployed with minimal disruption
Support incident analysis, root cause documentation, and continuous improvement efforts
Act as the primary point of contact for ecommerce delivery and operational issues
Communicate project status, risks, operational issues, and tradeoffs to stakeholders
Partner closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, IT, and external vendors
Maintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and system behavior
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in technology, Business, Information Systems, or related field
5+ years of proven experience managing complex technical projects, ideally E-commerce platform implementations or multi-system integrations
Strong technical background with a deep understanding of E-commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.)
Hands-on experience with systems integrations involving ERP, WMS, OMS, CRM, or middleware/API platforms
Demonstrated success delivering projects on time, within budget, and aligned to defined scope
Experience managing cross-functional teams and external technical vendors or implementation partners
Strong proficiency in technical documentation, requirements gathering, data mapping, and workflow design
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk-management skills
Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated leadership with the ability to drive accountability and maintain clear communication across all stakeholders
Ability to translate between business requirements and technical solutions
High sense of urgency and attention to detail
Preferred
Familiarity with APIs, middleware platforms, ETL tools, or integration frameworks
Working knowledge of Shopify Liquid, HTML/CSS, or related front-end templating languages
Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Hybrid) and related tools (Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet)
Understanding of E-commerce analytics, performance monitoring, SEO, or site optimization best practices
PMP, CSM, or comparable certification
