Certarus Ltd. is the North American leader in providing low carbon energy solutions, and they are seeking a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic responsible for the maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers. The role includes diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and maintaining inventory, while ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems with heavy duty vehicles and schedule repairs

Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers

Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks

Commercial Vehicle Inspections as well as quarterly inspections

Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades

Operate a pallet jack or forklift

Maintain parts inventory, and company vehicle

Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager or Supervisor

Required

Minimum of 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience with heavy vehicles

ASE Diesel certification in both diesel engines and electrical systems, with T2 and T6 focus areas considered an asset

Associates of Applied Science in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is considered an asset

Experience maintaining Cummins diesel, Peterbilt and Freightliner vehicles

Ability to diagnose and repair engines, electrical systems, and brake components

Excellent organizational and technical communication skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to influence and to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities

Exceptional work ethic with a positive, analytical, and safe work attitude

Basic skills in the use of computer-based programs such as MS 365, and CMMS systems

Must be a safety minded, a self-starter, and a team player

Clean Motor Vehicle Record(s) (MVR & PSP) with no suspensions

Candidates must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check, Fit-for-Duty, and D&A screen to be considered for employment
