TEC Group INC is seeking a highly skilled Emissions Lab Hardware Engineer to join their team on the 3rd shift. The role involves designing, developing, and troubleshooting complex hardware systems for emissions testing and research, with a focus on innovation and precision.

Responsibilities

Design and develop hardware components including PCB layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, and electrical schematics
Implement system design for emission testing equipment utilizing FPGA, ARM processors, and programmable logic controllers
Conduct root cause analysis on hardware issues and troubleshoot system failures using tools such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and vision inspection systems
Develop firmware and embedded software in C++, Python, MATLAB, SystemVerilog, and scripting languages to optimize hardware performance
Collaborate with project teams to create detailed project schedules and ensure timely delivery of hardware solutions
Perform soldering, surface mount technology assembly, and mechanical integration using tools like Arduino, Surface Mount Technology equipment, and mechanical engineering principles
Support manufacturing processes by reviewing schematics, CAD models (SolidWorks, MicroStation), and ensuring compliance with NEC standards
Conduct system testing and validation of electrical systems, signal processing modules, and firmware updates to meet quality standards
Assist in the development of vision inspection systems for quality assurance purposes

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with strong knowledge of electrical systems and system design principles
Proven experience with FPGA development (SystemVerilog), PCB design (AutoCAD/Revit), and CAD tools (SolidWorks/MicroStation)
Hands-on experience with soldering (surface mount technology), surface-mount component assembly, and electrical troubleshooting using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, MATLAB, Perl, Scripting languages, and firmware development for embedded systems
Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and debugging complex hardware issues
Ability to work effectively during third shift hours while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with signal processing techniques, electrical systems integration, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM architectures, Arduino platforms, and vision inspection systems
Experience: emissions hardware lab: 5 years (Required)

Preferred

Familiarity with quantum engineering concepts is a plus
Knowledge of mechanical systems including Revit or MicroStation modeling is desirable
