Human Resources Generalist

Pratt Industries is a sustainable packaging company looking for an HR Generalist to support HR initiatives for the Recycling Division. The role involves handling various HR-related duties, implementing recruiting strategies, administering employee benefits, and assisting with employee relations.

Responsibilities

Handle HR-related duties for the recycling division
Work closely with HR manager to identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies
Administer employee benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, FMLA, vacation, paid leaves
Assist HR manager in investigating employee relations issues, including hotline reports, with a focus on timely resolution
Maintain and administer any records or personnel files as required by state and federal laws for all employees, including I-9s
Process biweekly payroll with payroll analyst support and guidance
Run monthly reports such as OT, vacation accrual
Balance multiple commitments in fast paced environment
Participate in daily/weekly meetings
Travel to locations as needed
Additional duties or locations as assigned by management

Required

1+ years of experience within the field of Human Resources, payroll, or a related field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in MS Office
Experience in manufacturing
Proficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations
Superior Time Management
Change agent focused on continuous improvement
High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
Ability to coach, mentor and develop underperforming employees or problematic behaviors
Professional appearance to support his/her role as a managerial representative
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, business trends, professional journals, regulatory laws, and policies & procedures
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
Computer literacy (MS Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear, sit and stand
Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles
The noise level in the work environment can be, at times, loud

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
Preferred Candidates will have experience with ADP and other HRIS's
