Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect (PLG Full-Cycle)
Retell AI is reimagining the call center with cutting-edge voice AI, and they are seeking a Sales Engineer / Solutions Architect to ensure the technical success of their largest self-serve customers. This role involves pre-sale technical discovery, implementation, and post-sale expansion, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Telephony teams to optimize customer solutions and drive growth.

Responsibilities
Own a portfolio of large self-serve accounts, building deep relationships with stakeholders to drive adoption strategies
Act as a Subject-Matter Expert on the Voice AI platform, conducting technical workshops and demos to prove value
Identify high-value use cases within customer accounts to set the stage for successful deployments
Serve as the primary technical advisor, guiding customers from pilot to production at scale
Diagnose integration challenges and optimize Voice AI configurations for maximum performance
Orchestrate solutions with Product/Engineer and Telephony experts to resolve complex implementation blockers
Identify expansion opportunities through usage analytics and strategic recommendations to drive ARR growth
Create internal playbooks and document best practices to scale customer success capabilities
Mentor junior members and translate customer feedback into feature requests for the product roadmap
Qualification
Required
3+ years in solutions engineering, technical account management, or customer-facing technical roles, with hands-on experience building or integrating software using APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern developer tools
Demonstrated ability to unblock enterprise customers in fast-moving SaaS or AI environments, bringing urgency, empathy, and structure to high-stakes implementations
3+ years in sales engineering or technical sales roles, with a proven ability to drive adoption and expansion in PLG or self-serve-to-enterprise motions (e.g., Twilio, Dialogflow, Zoom, Gong)
Comfortable partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to translate customer needs into clear technical solutions and product roadmap inputs
Skilled at explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, using a consultative approach to build trust and influence decisions
Excited by voice AI and emerging technologies, with a track record of thriving in high-growth startups where ownership, ambiguity, and speed are part of the job
Deep familiarity with LLMs, conversational AI, and voice systems, with the ability to confidently demo and creatively apply Retell's platform to real customer use cases
