Analyst/Associate - Investment Strategy

Responsibilities

Work closely with portfolio management to establish and track strategic asset allocation and portfolio performance to ensure we achieve business objectives
Prepare investment presentations, proposals, and reports to communicate our investment strategies and structures, including regular updates to senior leadership
Help coordinate across sectors and managers to implement investment strategy, including communicating investment needs, managing pipelines, tracking deployment and evaluating performance
Support refinement of investment strategy based on internal and external considerations such as capital and liquidity, ALM, regulatory frameworks, market opportunities, relative value, industry trends and competitive dynamics within the insurance asset management sector
Support preparation of materials on BWS’ investment strategy for various external forums such as diligence sessions and rating agency meetings
Track investment assumptions to be used in forecasting and modelling and ensure ongoing alignment with other internal stakeholders
Assist with planning and execution of internal strategic initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related business discipline with an excellent academic record
1-3 years of asset allocation, portfolio management, cross asset class experience, or insurance related experience. CFA designation is a plus
Knowledge of private funds, including understanding of typical fund legal structures, cash flow profile, fees, performance metrics, etc
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Above-average capabilities in MS Excel and PPT
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and motivation
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently
Organizational skills to effectively manage priorities, multi-task where necessary, work well under pressure and meet timelines in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment
