Obsolescence Engineering IPT Lead

They are seeking an Obsolescence Engineering IPT Lead to manage a cross-functional team and oversee obsolescence management initiatives to ensure program continuity and mitigate risks associated with material and component obsolescence.

Responsibilities
Lead a cross-functional team of 7-10 engineers specializing in obsolescence management, including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering disciplines
Develop and execute obsolescence mitigation strategies to ensure program and production continuity
Perform lifecycle analysis for critical components, identify at-risk parts, and recommend redesign or procurement alternatives
Partner with suppliers to identify and qualify replacement parts or redesign solutions in response to end-of-life (EOL) notifications
Interface with program chief engineers, manufacturing teams, and value stream leadership to ensure alignment on obsolescence priorities and solutions
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Program Management to address obsolescence risks and maintain desired production throughput and yield rates
Maintain material and labor budgets for obsolescence-related activities and report deviations regularly to program leadership
Manage project tracking systems to monitor obsolescence-related actions and hold team members accountable for deliverables
Innovate and implement process improvements to reduce obsolescence risks across multiple programs and factories, including Andover and Tucson facilities
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to support critical reviews and mitigate supply chain constraints
Execute qualification efforts for replacement components or system redesigns driven by obsolescence
Drive collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and cross-discipline teams to ensure technical alignment and risk mitigation
Recognize and celebrate team achievements and contributions
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience in obsolescence management, lifecycle analysis/management, sustainment engineering/management, and/or reliability, availability, maintainability (RAM) engineering
Experience with program management tools: EVMS, Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management
Experience with budget, schedule, Estimate at Complete (EAC) process, and/or financial performance report generation
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Secret - Current security clearance
Preferred
Experience in managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
EVMS certification, Program Management certification, or equivalent to Raytheon PM Level 6 certification
Experience with Bill of Material scrubbing and/or DMSMS tools (HIS Markit Tools - CAPS Expert, BOM Intelligence or SiliconExpert, Z2Data, Arena PLM / Area QMS, and/or Accuris.)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and present obsolescence solutions to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
Experience with design refresh cycles, qualification of alternate parts, and supplier engagement to address obsolescence challenges
Demonstrated understanding of engineering development, transition to production, and sustainment in aerospace or defense industries
