Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and electromechanical assemblies from concept through production
Proven ability to design and own the full lifecycle for complex multi-layer flex and rigid PCBAs in highly space constrained environments
Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and GD&T for parts and assemblies
Collaborate with electrical and firmware engineers to integrate sensors, actuators, wiring, and PCBs/flex circuits
Lead prototype builds, hands-on assembly, and iterative testing to validate performance
Drive design for manufacturability (DFM/DFA) and cost reduction with manufacturing partners
Plan and execute verification and reliability tests; analyze failures and implement corrective actions
Manage BOMs, ECOs, and product documentation in PLM/PDM systems
Support field issues and continuous improvement with root-cause analysis and fixes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field
5+ years experience designing and shipping consumer products/automotive/ robotics/industrial products
Expertise in 3D CAD and engineering drawings with GD&T
Experience with prototyping methods and hands-on build/debug in a lab environment
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate design intent clearly
Familiarity with thermal, vibration, and structural considerations for ruggedized products
Experience with design reviews, requirements, and validation/verification workflows
Proficiency with BOM management and change control (ECO) processes
