Principal Director, Information Analysis (Director III)

They are seeking a Principal Director for Information Analysis to lead the Research and Analysis Division, overseeing data processing and reporting to enhance educational insights and support school systems.

Education

Responsibilities

Provide oversight of quality completion of TPEIR Data and Reporting, Early Education Data and Reporting, and National Postsecondary Data and Reporting
Provide oversight of data compilation and supplemental data processing for the Education Research Centers
Provide oversight of quality completion of Federal Reporting and Special Populations data compilation and reporting. This includes the team’s production of EDFacts files and the State Performance Plan reporting system
Provide oversight of PEIMS data request completion and process improvement, production of PEIMS standard reports and discipline data products, and critical interagency data search systems
Oversee planning and coordination of projects and guide staff to accomplish them on time; promote opportunities for staff growth and development; and ensure administrative tasks (e.g., managing budget tasks, completing T&E, approving leave, conducting performance management tasks, managing staff hiring) are completed in a timely manner

Required

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
At least (7) years of experience in managing, directing, or coordinating professional staff performing data processing and compilation, analytics, research, reporting or related functions
An advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience
Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and are able to succeed in college, career, or the military
Ability to build and maintain high-performing teams by providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and support for professional growth
Knowledge of analyzing data sets; running queries, report writing, and presenting findings, including in data visualization tools
Knowledge of procedures for handling, protecting, and distributing confidential data in compliance with legal requirements
Ability to self-reflect, give and receive feedback, and the desire to continuously improve
Experience ensuring quality and accuracy of work produced by self and others and strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred

Experience in SAS programming
Knowledge of Texas public education data
