Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a motivated and collaborative Materials and Processes Engineer to join their Composite Materials Fabrication Site in Mesa, Arizona. The role involves applying chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials, while ensuring efficient production of aerospace products.

Responsibilities

Ensure the efficient production of our world-class aerospace products, including advanced platforms for our Air Proprietary programs
Apply chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods
Provide technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication
Perform root-cause investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions for material and process issues
Create and execute test plans, write reports, and input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes
Qualify and approve equipment, materials, and processes
Guide material testing in the Materials & Processes Laboratory
Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
Travel to suppliers as needed
Integrate new technologies and promote standardization across product lines
Manage test/audit programs, ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, and incorporate EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles into your work

Required

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. (And a Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience or a Master's degree)
Willingness to work 2nd shift
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position

Preferred

2 years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques
Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques
Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives
Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis
Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans
Comfortable reading engineering drawings and using office software
Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations and briefings
Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
