Responsibilities
Performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in one or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment
Communicates technical or general information to their manager, director, & medical staff
May provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills and applications of laboratory test procedures
Provides expertise and serves as a technical resource for Technicians
Functions as a licensed staff member performing duties approved by California Business and Professions Code, CLIA and other regulatory agencies
Qualification
Required
2 to 5 years of relevant clinical experience with at least 1 year in the area of specialty required
Bachelor's degree meeting California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Laboratory Field Services academic requirements
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
Or acceptable Limited California Licenses in specialty areas: Clinical Chemist Scientist License, Clinical Cytogeneticist Scientist License, Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist License, Clinical Hematologist Scientist License, Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist License, Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License, Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License
Preferred
ASCP Board of Registry certification as Medical Technologist, or other specialty preferred
