Development Officer
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a global leader in higher education, known for its commitment to innovative teaching and research. The Development Officer will identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts for the Arts and Sciences Foundation, collaborating closely with the development team to enhance philanthropic support for the college's priorities.
Responsibilities
Identification, cultivation and solicitation of Arts and Sciences prospects for major gifts and principal gifts
Work collaboratively with the Foundation team
Report directly to a senior member of the development team at the Arts and Sciences Foundation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in the area of assignment, of which at least one is supervisory or in a lead-worker capacity; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentational skills required
Superior written and verbal communication skills required
Strong leadership skills required
Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management required
Strong personal integrity and work ethic
This position requires a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics
Preferred
Candidates with experience in a university or major college setting and with a successful track record in closing major, principal, and planned gifts preferred
Comprehensive campaign experience is also preferred
Demonstrated supervisory experience of fundraising staff preferred in positions with management responsibilities
