Truck Technology Engineer- Stoughton, MA
Diesel Direct is a company focused on providing technology solutions for fuel delivery. They are seeking a Truck Technology Engineer to support the mechanical and electronic technology in delivery trucks, manage helpdesk requests, and provide on-site installation and support for fuel dispenser technology.

Responsibilities
Support the mechanical and electronic technology in our delivery trucks. This includes configuration, triage and support of handheld scanning devices, metering devices, communication and network devices, and supporting infrastructure
Be available to answer phone calls from users in the second and third shift
Manage and triage helpdesk requests across all areas of IT desktop support
Perform simple break/fix procedures related to Windows, Mac, and MFP devices
Coordinate with internet providers to schedule installations
Coordinate with cellular providers to provision and activate mobile devices
Document reported error messages, and faulty behavior to escalate issues when necessary
Open and monitor incidents created with 3rd party providers
Assist users with initial equipment setup
Perform routine administrative tasks
Provisioning – Configuration of the devices enabling and disabling features
Device Configuration – making changes to the settings and parameters of the device
Device diagnostics and support
Software installation, update, and management
Wiring and working with various voltages and connection types
Soldering and use of terminal punch adapters
Flashing and configuring LC and Mid:Com electronic register products and attached devices
On-site installation of truck technology
On-site installation and support for fuel dispenser add-on technology (mechanical and electronic)
Software Upgrades – installing and testing new software and identifying bugs and working with developers on fixes to be loaded on the device. Worked with applications and system software development and testing
Work with mobile devices, where memory and storage space may be limited on bandwidth or communication, such as in wireless connectivity
Provide timely, efficient and professional follow-up to our customer inquiries
Taking full ownership of assigned tasks and keeping customers well-informed about the progress
Qualification
Required
High School diploma plus some relative technical experience required
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Excellent communication skills including proficiency in verbal and written English
Willing to travel overnight and work weekends when necessary
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer
Basic wiring concepts working with various voltages and connection types
Soldering and use of terminal punch adapters
Excellent customer service skills
Problem solving/trouble-shooting abilities
Able to climb truck mounted ladders to access the top truck
Required to run and secure cables under the chassis of the tanker
Experience landing control and power leads on the tanker trucks
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel), Chrome and Edge Browsers
Provide API support and technical issue resolution via multiple support channels
Assist and initialize training materials and internal/customer-facing documentation
Deep understanding of IT fundamentals
Ability to understand and troubleshoot system/API/applications flows and provide solutions
