Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the company's financial budgets and forecasts. This involves working closely with the data team to ensure analysis is rooted in quality data and the growth team to drive growth and clarity with partners, owning financial modeling for the organization, and then consolidating this information into comprehensive financial plans
Build financial models to evaluate various scenarios and make informed decisions. These models might include: cash flow projections, revenue forecasts, expense analyses, sensitivity analyses to assess potential risks and opportunities, TAM analyses, cohort analyses, and unit economics analyses
Monitor the company's financial performance against budgets and forecasts. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track them regularly to assess the company's progress towards its goals
Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted figures. Investigate the reasons behind discrepancies and provide insights to management to help improve performance
Prepare regular financial reports for internal stakeholders (e.g., management team and board of directors) as well as external parties (e.g., investors, lenders). These reports may include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other relevant financial metrics
Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as requested by management to address specific questions or concerns, such as pricing strategies, cost optimization initiatives, or performance benchmarking against competitors
Qualification
Required
Highly proficient in Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exceptional communication and presentation skills
Detail oriented
Able to work with ambiguity and tell a story with numbers
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field (Required)
Proven financial modeling and analysis experience, ideally in a healthcare startup or similar fast-paced environment
Experience creating budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting
Must have a home office that is secure and free of distractions (HIPAA-compliant workspace)
Prolonged periods of sitting at the desk and working on a computer
Must be able to hear, speak, call and virtually meet
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
Preferred
Background in investment banking or startup finance/business development experience preferred
Experience with board or client deliverables
