Finance Director

Legrand, North America has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director to join the WattStopper Team. The Director, Finance is responsible for the financial leadership and strategic financial planning of the business unit, overseeing finance and accounting teams, and partnering with sales and operations teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Oversees the financial accounting and analysis departments of the business unit, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collections, general accounting, internal controls, financial planning and analysis
Defines structure, roles, and responsibilities of finance organization in coordination Lighting & Building Systems VP, Finance. Selects, manages, develops, and evaluates the performance of finance staff; recommends and implements personnel actions
Prepares or directs preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and financial reports required by the organization or regulatory agencies in a prompt and accurate manner
Recommends and develops policies, procedures, and systems to meet short and long-term financial objectives. Anticipates the effect of these changes and communicates the impact to stakeholders. As part of development, regularly seeks out internal and industry practices to innovate and drive continuous improvement and department efficiencies
Ensures an accounting and business control environment is in place to support Legrand internal audit compliance and meet or exceed internal audit requirements and annual SOX testing
Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards
Conducts or coordinates audits of entity accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes and takes appropriate corrective actions as required
Interfaces with operations and sales leadership to ensure achievement of the annual budget objectives including attaining targets pertaining to organic revenue growth, operations productivity, inventory levels, and similar focus areas
Performs work on strategic projects and other similar and related duties as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA highly desired
Minimum 10 years progressive finance experience
At least five years of operations finance and accounting management (i.e., VP, director, controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager)
5+ years manufacturing accounting/finance experience required
Knowledge and proven application of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership practices, production methods, and coordination of people and resources and an intense, goal-driven environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team, across locations and time-zones and successfully develop staff members
Collaborative – recognized for effective relationship building skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, analyze complex financial situations, and implement corrective actions at both the strategic and tactical level
Strong analytics and general accounting or finance background
High energy; a can-do attitude when challenges occur
Naturally takes on challenging assignments
Strong organizational values and integrity
Speaks with confidence – carries him or herself with executive presence
Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software
Expert-level, Microsoft Excel skills are a plus
AI and business intelligence skills are pluses
Possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions
Limited travel, primarily within North America. Occasional international travel may be required
