Recruitify USA is hiring a senior-level Patent Paralegal or Senior IP Assistant to support a busy patent prosecution practice at a well-established mid-size law firm. The role involves managing both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution matters independently, from filing through issuance, while ensuring effective communication with attorneys and clients regarding deadlines and status.

Responsibilities

Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications

Manage active patent prosecution dockets

Coordinate with foreign counsel on international filings

Draft and file Office Action responses, IDS, amendments, and formalities

Communicate with attorneys and clients regarding deadlines and status

Assist with post-issuance matters including maintenance fees and portfolio reporting

Track and enter billable time accurately

Required

4+ years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm

Experience managing matters from filing through issuance and maintenance

Comfortable billing time

Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Ability to support multiple attorneys in a collaborative team environment

Hands-on experience handling both U.S. and foreign patent prosecution matters

Experience with U.S. Patent Prosecution including provisional and non-provisional filings, Office Action responses, Information Disclosure Statements (IDS), amendments, and formalities, filings through allowance and issuance, USPTO systems such as Patent Center, PAIR, and MyUSPTO

Experience with Foreign and International Patent Prosecution including PCT filings, national stage entries, coordinating directly with foreign counsel, managing international deadlines and prosecution requirements
