Information Technology - CAD Operator 3

Scalence L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Designer 4 to join their Mechanical Engineering Design team within the Launch Vehicle Division at their Chandler, AZ facility. The role involves checking drawing/design packages for compliance with industry standards and ensuring proper fit and function of designs, along with modeling components using Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

Review mechanical drawings with appropriate personnel verifying completed work, checking dimensions, materials and quantities to be used
Mechanical modeling using NX managed with Teamcenter
Create/Revise parametric drawings in conformance with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards
As requested, may supervise and direct the activities of staff
Perform related duties as assigned or required
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, NX and Teamcenter as required
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work quickly and accurately while under schedule pressure and exhibit a large degree of patience
Strong time management and organizational skills

Required

2 year Technical Degree in Drafting or Engineering and 6 years directly related experience
Must be experienced with geometric dimensioning and tolerating (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5-2009
Must be a U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain DoD security clearance
Must have knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations
Must be experienced with Siemens NX and Teamcenter
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Candidate must be comfortable working extended periods of time at a work station

Preferred

GDTP Professional Certification Preferred
Experience with Digital Product Definition Practices per ASME Y14.41
Experienced with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1
AWS CWI certification Preferred
Experience working with DoD programs preferred
A working knowledge of ASME Y14. 100 and MIL-Standard 100 is also desired
