Business Analyst- SharePoint Migration

Responsibilities

Analyze existing SharePoint 2019 site collections, content structures, workflows, and forms
Document what content will be migrated, decommissioned, or redesigned
Identify legacy components (including InfoPath forms) requiring replacement or remediation
Create structured migration documentation using Excel workbooks and standardized templates
Elicit and document functional and technical requirements for:
SharePoint Online sites
Power Platform applications (Power Apps, Power Automate)
Replacement solutions for deprecated InfoPath forms
Develop wireframes, requirements narratives, and supporting artifacts used by technical teams
Ensure documentation aligns with organizational standards and governance requirements
Lead meetings with business units, site owners, and leadership to:
Understand business needs
Build consensus on migration scope and sequencing
Resolve concerns related to content ownership, timing, and impact
Translate business priorities into actionable migration plans for technical teams
Provide SharePoint technical teams with guidance on migration sequencing based on:
Business priority
Site size and complexity
Risk and dependencies
Support in-flight and newly requested SharePoint Online development efforts
Participate in weekly status meetings and regular one-on-one check-ins with the SharePoint team lead
Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and dependencies impacting delivery timelines

Required

3–5 years of professional Business Analyst experience
Proven experience supporting website or content migration projects
Hands-on experience with SharePoint 2019 and/or SharePoint Online as a power user, site owner, or analyst
Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements in complex environments
Demonstrated ability to build consensus with stakeholders ranging from leadership to individual contributors
Excellent written communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Must successfully pass a criminal background check
Must be eligible to work on public-sector systems and comply with confidentiality and data-handling requirements
Comfortable working within formal governance, approval, and documentation frameworks

Preferred

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
Prior project management or hybrid BA/PM experience
Experience working in government, judicial, or public-sector IT environments
Familiarity with structured SDLC and formal documentation standards
