Curriculum Content Lead, High School
The Council on Foreign Relations is an organization dedicated to fostering a foreign policy community that reflects American society. They are seeking a Curriculum Content Lead for High School who will be responsible for the instructional quality and integrity of high school teaching resources, leading professional development, and creating educational materials for educators.

Responsibilities
Design and develop classroom materials and supports such as simulations, lesson plans, student handouts, and curriculum alignments for all Education products to ensure they are accessible and effective for teachers and students
Provide instructional and effective insight and serve as the voice of the high school educator in departmental conversations among the Content, Marketing, and Product teams
Remain current on and share high school education industry trends, including state and national standards, trends in supplemental social studies materials, technology, and AI
Lead all aspects of CFR Education’s high school professional development (PD) activities:
Outreach to, and management of relationships with state and district administrators
Delivery of all in-person and virtual PD content and programming
Meet with partners or internal teams to discuss the goals, audience, content strategy, and administration of the webinars
Create the content and structure for all presentations
Provide Marketing with draft summaries of all webinars to be used for the website, newsletter, or other collateral
Work with Marketing on webinar promotion
Work collaboratively with Curriculum Content Lead, Higher Education on resource production and major projects targeted at both the higher school and higher education audiences
Speak at conferences representing CFR Education and exhibit at Education conference booths as an enthusiastic evangelist of CFR Education materials
Support the development of new and maintenance of existing partnerships in the high school sphere
Partner with Marketing on all efforts aimed at the high school audience
Serve as a point of contact and support for high school educators and administrators
Other responsibilities in the domain of high school education, as needed
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Secondary Education or B.A. in foreign policy-related field
M.S. in education, edtech, or a foreign policy-related field
Minimum of five years integrating global affairs into the teaching of social studies at a public high school. Social studies subject areas include world history, U.S. history, AP or IB classes, government, civics, foreign policy, geography, or economics
History of delivering professional development to teachers
Successful track record presenting at webinars and conferences
Creator of high school social studies lesson plans, classroom activities, and/or simulations
Deep knowledge and usage of high school national and state content standards in social studies
Strong team player
Engaging and energetic presenter
Project management skills and ability to self-manage schedule and output
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort reaching out and establishing relationships with district and state education leaders
Thrives on a small, fast-paced, high-output team
Ability to travel as needed to in-person professional development and national and state conferences
