Responsibilities

Leads Cal OES’s efforts related to the Miles Hall Lifeline and Suicide Prevention Act (Chapter 747, Statutes of 2022 [Assembly Bill 988]) in compliance with existing federal law and standards governing the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network
Coordinates, plans, and organizes the work of multidisciplinary professional and administrative staff that design, implement, and maintain the statewide 9-8-8 system
Responsible for managing all matters relative to 9-8-8, including contracts related to 9-8-8 and interaction with over 12 9-8-8 lifeline crisis centers that interface with over 400 PSAPs
Researches, prepares, proposes, and facilitates the implementation of policies, processes, and procedures used to deliver and manage the statewide 9-8-8 system
Continuously evaluates the program’s capabilities, develops and proposes plans to improve efficiencies to reach 9-8-8 Lifeline Systems goals, and ensures consistency with the Department’s strategic direction in program and operational plans

Professional, diplomatic, and respectful when engaging with internal and external partners
Ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts
Comfortable working with technical subject matter experts to evaluate and implement solutions
Strong project coordination and organizational skills
Experience developing statements of work and managing vendor performance
Ability to monitor scope, schedule, budget, and compliance
Financial acumen to develop funding models, budgets, and revenue forecasts
Takes ownership of outcomes and proactively identifies risks and solutions
