Cyber Security Operations Student

They are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Student to engage in meaningful work within the IT Security Operations team, assisting with security operations center activities, troubleshooting security events, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Work within IT Security Operations team on activities to solve problems
Assist in security operations center activities
Troubleshoot and investigate security events
Assist with vulnerability management activities, including patching of workstations and servers
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate vulnerabilities
Work with Daktronics users and partners on security related inquiries, including phishing and social engineering
Occasionally may work with the IT Infrastructure Operations team
Complete work in a timely manner
Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Regularly and reliably work scheduled hours
Qualification
Required
The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor's degree program in Cyber Security, Cyber Operations, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related degree
The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school
Only strong academic performers will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA, with preference to 3.0 GPA or greater
Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position
Information Technology networking and cyber security is required
Knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems, networking protocols, cyber security best practices preferred
Microsoft Windows familiarity including: User accounts and groups, Permission set concepts, System, application, and security event logs, Ability to dig into application and service logs for troubleshooting
Candidate should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation
Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
