The Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office is seeking an Assistant Solicitor General to work in the Jury Trial Division. The role involves investigating and prosecuting misdemeanor crimes, reviewing case files, interviewing witnesses, and representing the State in trials.

Responsibilities
Investigating and prosecuting misdemeanor crimes and Title 40 traffic violations
Reviewing case files and ensuring that all relevant evidence has been secured
Properly documenting, and organizing files for efficient investigation, prosecution and disposition
Interviewing lay, expert, and law enforcement witnesses
Analyze case files and making charging decisions
Researching and writing motions and court orders
Negotiating with opposing counsel
Representing the State in Bench or Jury trials
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Detail-oriented
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to work independently
Strong sense of personal responsibility and leadership skills
Commitment to serving the community and working with the public
Completion and satisfactory results of a criminal background check
Preferred
Licensed member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia
Ability to multitask and work under occasionally stressful time constraints
